Manchester United vs West Ham – Premier League 2025/26 Preview

The midweek Premier League offering finishes with an enticing encounter between Manchester United vs West Ham.

Old Trafford is the setting for a match steeped in history, and here is our full match preview, complete with sports betting tips based on the latest football odds.

Manchester United vs West Ham Preview

After losing 1-0 to 10-man Everton in their previous home fixture, United bounced back in fine fashion last Sunday.

Ruben Amorim’s side came from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park thanks to second-half strikes from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount.

For the first time in quite a while, the Red Devils have a positive goal difference ahead of kick-off tomorrow evening – and perhaps, just perhaps, the future is bright for the sleeping giant.

That being said, the aforementioned loss to Everton was a stark reminder of United’s shortcomings, although the situation is far worse for West Ham.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in the thick of a relegation battle after losing 2-0 to Liverpool on the weekend, with Lucas Paqueta seeing red late in the second half.

The Brazilian playmaker will therefore miss this fixture through suspension, which represents a significant blow for the Hammers.

However, Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson are each available for selection, and the former has a good record against United.

Bowen has scored three goals in his last four appearances vs the Red Devils, including a strike in West Ham’s 2-0 win at Old Trafford back in May.

The Hammers also won 2-1 at the London Stadium last season, though did suffer a 3-0 loss in Manchester during the 2023-24 campaign.

Manchester United vs West Ham Betting Tips

To assist a goal double chance – Bruno Fernandes OR Bryan Mbeumo @ 2.00

Fernandes assisted both goals in the 2-1 win at Palace, and he also leads the way in the Premier League for chances created with 33. Mbeumo only has one assist to his name in the top flight, but his record of 23 chances created – the same number as Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice – suggests this selection is well worth a punt. Especially as West Ham have not kept a clean sheet in their last 10 matches!

Bryan Mbeumo to have over 1.5 shots on target @ 3.40

Mbeumo’s tally of five goals is fairly good, but his shots on target total of 17 puts him in the division’s top four for the metric. And given West Ham surrender chances for fun, Mbeumo could keep Alphonse Areola very busy indeed.

Freddie Potts to commit over 1.5 fouls @ 2.25

Potts avoided the referee’s gaze against Liverpool, but committed two fouls in each of the previous fixtures against Burnley (3-2) and Bournemouth (2-2). So this could be a great way to more-than-double your stake.
