Premier League 2025/26: Matchday 9 Betting Tips

The Premier League returns tomorrow evening for Matchday 9 of the 2025-26 season.

And we are also back with another round of sports betting tips, to help you craft those precious weekend football bets.

Let’s begin…

*All odds are subject to change

Manchester United vs Brighton: Anytime goalscorer – Bryan Mbeumo @ 2.88

Mbeumo has been one of United’s standout performers in 2025-26 thus far, and scored after just 62 seconds in last weekend’s huge 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield. The Cameroon international has scored three goals across all competitions this season, and he also has a great record against Brighton. During his Brentford days, Mbeumo recorded six goal contributions in eight appearances vs the Seagulls. With Brighton still waiting for their first top-flight clean sheet of the campaign, Mbeumo’s odds here look too good to turn down. And if you wish to take less of a risk with a bet on the United winger, he is at odds of 1.95 to score OR assist at Old Trafford.

Wolves vs Burnley: Total goals – Under 2.5 @ 1.58

This battle at the bottom of the Premier League table has ‘cagey’ written all over it. Wolves are yet to taste victory in the top flight, losing six of eight matches – including last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Sunderland. Burnley did claim a 2-0 home win over Leeds last time out, but are yet to pick up a single point on the road. Furthermore, the Clarets have netted only four goals on their travels, while Wolves are the joint-lowest scorers in the division (5 goals). This selection would have landed in five of the Wanderers’ eight Premier League matches, and in each of the last three.

Chelsea vs Sunderland: Player to score or assist – Enzo Fernandez @ 2.60

Fernandez’s goal contribution record in a Chelsea jersey feels slightly underrated. The Argentine has already tallied four (3 goals, 1 assist) in Premier League action this season, following on from 13 (6 goals, 7 assists) in 2024-25. Fernandez is also one of the Blues’ main penalty takers, and he converted from 12 yards in Wednesday’s 5-1 win over Ajax in the Champions League. So his odds in this market could represent exceptional value, especially as three of his four top-flight goal contributions have come at Stamford Bridge. Sunderland are a solid defensive outfit, but Chelsea are a team bang in form, with three consecutive wins across all competitions yielding 10 goals scored and only two conceded. Over to you, Enzo!

Everton vs Tottenham: Draw no bet – Everton @ 1.66

We are not quite sure what to make of Spurs under Thomas Frank. While there are some positive signs, the North Londoners have only won two of the last seven matches across all competitions – one of those being a 3-0 win over Doncaster in the EFL Cup! Furthermore, Spurs have emerged victorious in just two of the previous six Premier League games, form which should really pique the interest of Everton. As well as home advantage, the Toffees squad will be better rested after Spurs’ Champions League exploits, Frank’s men drawing 0-0 at AS Monaco on Wednesday evening. So we really like the looks of Everton’s odds here, especially as Tottenham’s last away victory vs the Toffees came way back in December 2018. Five of the last six top-flight meetings on Merseyside side have finished as a draw, but this selection ensures that a repeat outcome would not result in a loss of money!
