Last weekend saw England make another damaging trip to Murrayfield, as Steve Borthwick\u2019s side lost 31-20 in Scotland, ending their hopes of another Triple Crown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Henry Arundell\u2019s early yellow card proved to be the game\u2019s deciding factor, with the Scottish scoring two tries while the hosts were reduced to 14 men.<\/span><\/p>\n

But overall the performance was simply not good enough, and the result should serve as a real wake up call for the Red Roses. It also makes the job of catching reigning champions France even tougher.<\/span><\/p>\n

So the Irish will be expecting a strong response from England at a packed Twickenham, though Andy Farrell\u2019s boys should be feeling far better about themselves following the 20-13 comeback win over Italy last time out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sure, it was far from a vintage Irish display at the Aviva Stadium, but after the heavy defeat in France (36-14), achieving victory in any form was the only real objective.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now is the time to look at delivering a statement performance in London, a place where Ireland have not enjoyed much success in recent years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2024 edition of this fixture finished 23-22 in England\u2019s favour, although Ireland did claim a 32-15 victory at Twickenham back in 2022, as well as a 24-15 triumph in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the Irish lost three consecutive matches at Twickenham between 2019 and 2020, so it has not really been a happy hunting ground of late.<\/span><\/p>\n
