Friday night sees the first edition of a famous Dublin derby as reigning champions Shamrock Rovers welcome St Patrick\u2019s Athletic to the Tallaght Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be the first game of Shamrock\u2019s Irish Premier Division season after last week\u2019s scheduled contest at Shelbourne was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, St Pat\u2019s fared far better on home soil, following up a 2-2 draw in April with a 1-0 victory in mid-October.<\/span><\/p>\n

And in the 2024 season, St Pat\u2019s went unbeaten at Tallaght Stadium, earning a 2-2 draw and also recording a 3-0 victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

So the recent head-to-head record makes this a tough match to call, even more so when you remember that this is Shamrock\u2019s first game of the new season.<\/span><\/p>\n

St Pat\u2019s got their campaign up and running on February 8, though could only muster a 0-0 draw at Bohemians.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their scheduled match against Galway United last weekend was also cancelled due to inclement weather, meaning both squads may be a little rusty at kick-off.<\/span><\/p>\n
