Horse Racing: Saturday 08/11/2025 Best Bets

by Danny

This weekend has plenty of racing at Aintree and Wincanton, as well as flat action at Doncaster. And as per usual, we have some of the best horse racing betting odds available right here at NetBet.

So, here are our sports betting picks for the weekend ahead, including a bet on the featured Badger Beer Chase.

Aintree 2:40 | 0.5 PTS EW – King Turgeon

King Turgeon’s season derailed slightly during the spring, but he was prolific in the winter months, winning last year’s renewal before going onto win a handicap at Cheltenham’s December meeting.

His connections were hoping he’d be a Grand National horse at the end of the season, but he is only seven and they can re-ignite the flame this weekend.

Race fitness is to be proved, but that is the case with most, and he ran well off 2 lbs lower back in January.

If he’s fully tuned up, a big run could be on the cards here.

Wincanton 2:23 | 2 PT WIN – Blueking d’Oroux

He may have been beaten on chase debut, but that shouldn’t be a true reflection of how talented this horse is.

I have no doubts he would have improved massively for the run, and his rival who beat him is a good yardstick from the Skeltons who regularly runs well in valuable races.

None of the rivals here are of his calibre and with improvement likely, he should prove hard to beat.

Irish raider Cobra Queen could be a danger if he continues to progress, but it is yet to be seen whether he is graded quality.

This should be pretty straightforward for Blueking d’Oroux.

Wincanton 3:30 | 1 PT WIN – Art Of Diplomacy

This year’s running of the Badger Beer is slightly below par, with many of the field coming into the race with a lot to prove.

Art Of Diplomacy has excelled this season, and had it not been for a final flight fall, he looked likely to record his sixth win of the campaign last time out.

If that’s not left his mark, he can continue his upward curve here, and represents a safer option than most of the field.

Threeunderthrufive hasn’t really completed in the last two, whilst Gustavian’s jumping often lets him down and Scarface must produce a career best off a mark of 136.

This could be a fantastic end to the season for Art Of Diplomacy.

Wincanton 1:45 | 1 PT WIN – Jubilee Alpha

I am still firmly of the opinion that Jubilee Alpha is a graded mare, and if so, she should be dealing with her rivals in this class 2 contest.

She won a listed race at Taunton, before winning a novice and running respectable in the Mares Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

If she is fit for her seasonal debut, she will beat this field and top weight shouldn’t be an issue.

It will be the furthest she has raced by a furlong, and the extra distance should prove beneficial.

Some of these rivals will only see the festival when they’re driving through Gloucestershire, and her class should see her through this challenge.
