The Premier League returns this weekend after the final international break of 2025.
And Matchday 12 looks like an absolute cracker, as we approach the busy festive period! Newcastle vs Manchester City and Arsenal vs Tottenham are this weekend’s two standout fixtures.
Both games feature in our latest round of Premier League betting tips, all of them chosen based on our latest football odds.
Let’s begin…
*All odds are subject to change
Newcastle vs Manchester City: Anytime goalscorer – Erling Haaland @ 1.80
With 14 goals in just 11 Premier League appearances this season, wagering on Haaland to score is probably one of the safest player-specific bets you can make right now. The Norwegian colossus netted back-to-back braces vs Estonia and Italy over the break, and quite simply looks unstoppable. While Newcastle remain a formidable team on home soil, winning the last four at St James’ Park and conceding just one goal, no defence in the world looks capable of preventing Haaland from scoring. Just ask Arsenal and Liverpool…
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest: Elliot Anderson to commit over 1.5 fouls @ 1.62
Speaking of Liverpool, Arne Slot’s Reds will be desperate to get back to winning ways after the 3-0 defeat at Haaland-inspired City before the break. However, a match against Forest may not be straightforward, especially with the pragmatic Sean Dyche now in the hot-seat. As such, we are steering away from the Match Result market, and have instead picked out another player-specific wager. Anderson is as combative as they come in the middle of the park, already tallying 14 fouls in 11 appearances. With Liverpool likely to dominate the ball at Anfield, we feel confident that Anderson will be catching the referee’s gaze on a couple of occasions.
Arsenal to beat Tottenham and both teams to score @ 3.21
Arsenal’s defensive strength has been well-documented throughout this season. However, the absence of Gabriel Magalhaes due to injury means the Gunners may be slightly less formidable at the back in the North London derby. Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera are the potential Gabriel replacements, but none of them are quite at the Brazilian’s level. So we expect Spurs to grab a goal, although Arsenal should still have enough firepower to down Thomas Frank’s men at the Emirates. Both teams have scored in the last five NLDs at the Gunners’ home, with the hosts eventually winning four of them – including last season’s 2-1 success.
Manchester United vs Everton: Anytime goalscorer – Mason Mount @ 3.75
Benjamin Sesko is set to be sidelined for around a month with a knee injury, which means Mount may be deployed as a false No9 on the Monday Night Football. It is a position the Englishman played to perfection in United’s 2-1 win at Liverpool, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo providing support from the No10 positions. Mount scored in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford, and netted two goals against Everton in his Chelsea days. With such great odds on offer, this could be a fantastic leg for a combo bet – or a Bet Builder!
