The 2025 Flat season may be winding down but there is yet another mouthwatering meeting at Doncaster this weekend and, at NetBet, we have you covered with the best horse racing betting odds on the market.
With the final Group 1 of the season, the Futurity Trophy Stakes, being run on Saturday afternoon, you can be assured of top-class racing from the Yorkshire track amidst the gloomy weather.
So, take a look at our bet sport tips below from four of the featured races, and we can hopefully guide you in the right direction.
2.05pm – Futurity Trophy Stakes (Group 1) – 6f
Where else to start but the feature race of the whole meeting, the Futurity Trophy Stakes. Run over a straight six furlongs, this contest might turn into a bit of a slog due to the heavy conditions, so you need a horse that might stay that extra distance. Aidan O’Brien is treble-handed in this out of six runners as he bids to win this valuable prize for the 12th time since 1997. The master trainer has the first two in the betting and we have sided with the favourite, Benvenuto Cellini. Ridden by Christophe Soumillon, he won handsomely at Leopardstown last time out and is taken to win this comfortably.
Selection – BENVENUTO CELLINI – 5/4
3.50pm – Each Way Extra Handicap – 1m
A much bigger field for this race represents a much trickier race to predict. Run the length of Doncaster’s straight mile course, there are plenty of horses in with live chances, but a lot of these have been on the go since March so we are looking towards contenders who have less mileage in their legs. That takes us to the in-form Walsingham. He has rattled off a hattrick this season from just three runs, including at Ascot last time out on soft ground. That race was also run on a straight mile, as opposed to a tighter course so that should also be in his favour.
Selection – WALSINGHAM
4.25pm – Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap – 1m2f
Yet another testing little handicap to predict. Run over a mile and a quarter, this is a good quality field for a late season handicap and plenty are in with a shout of collecting this valuable prize on their way to a winter holiday in the warmth of their stable. Out of the dozen horses, we believe El Burhan can follow up his win at Ayr last time out and come out on top here.
Selection – EL BURHAN
5pm – Free Digital Racecard Handicap – 7f
As the afternoon progresses, the races don’t get any easier to predict. Fifteen runners go to post over seven furlongs for this race and with six races being run before this, it could turn into a gruelling contest. A horse that we really like is the three-year-old, Rainbow Nebula. He has only had four runs this campaign but will be full of confidence after his victory at Ascot last time out. The step up in trip worked wonders and we believe he will back that up in this trappy affair.
Selection – RAINBOW NEBULA
