Mansfield vs Arsenal: Anytime goalscorer – Gabriel Jesus @ 1.53
Mikel Arteta will make wholesale changes to his starting XI here, with Arsenal travelling to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League next midweek. So Jesus should get the nod, having started against Portsmouth and Wigan in the previous rounds. The Brazilian is still a high-quality operator, and can certainly inflict misery upon the defence of Mansfield – who sit 16th in the League One table. Jesus scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in the 4-0 over Wigan in the fourth round.
Wrexham vs Chelsea: Total goals – Over 3.5 @ 2.20
This Saturday clash at the Racecourse Ground has all the ingredients of an FA Cup classic. Wrexham are flying high in the Championship, while Chelsea are one of the Premier League big boys looking to avoid a giant killing. The last time Wrexham played a top-flight side in this competition was in the third round, a 3-3 draw vs Nottingham Forest which was decided by a penalty shootout. So we expect goals here, particularly as Chelsea’s last two matches against Championship opposition – both of them away from home – saw over 3.5 scored in each. A 5-1 win at Charlton was followed by a 4-0 victory at Hull.
Newcastle vs Manchester City: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.47
One of three all-Premier League ties in the fifth round. Saturday’s late game will be the fifth meeting between Newcastle and Man City this season, with three of the previous four seeing both teams score. So you can see why we are opting for this selection, particularly as recent matches at St James’ Park have been goal-filled affairs. Wednesday night’s 2-1 win over Manchester United means 18 goals have been scored in the Magpies’ last four home games across all competitions. Of course, both teams found the back of the net in each, making this bet look close to a banker.
Leeds to beat Norwich @ 1.44
Leeds have been drawn into the Premier League relegation battle, so this FA Cup tie represents a good opportunity to build confidence levels ahead of the run-in. However, the match is perhaps not as simple as it would have looked earlier in the season. Norwich have lifted themselves out of the Championship drop zone, winning five of the last six matches across all competitions – keeping clean sheets in four of them. So this may very well be a stern test of Leeds’ credentials, though Daniel Farke’s men should still have more than enough to get the win, particularly with an Elland Road crowd in full voice.
