Manchester City vs Galatasaray: Anytime goalscorer – Phil Foden @ 2.68
It has been a tough time for Foden of late, but a welcome rest in the 2-0 win over Wolves may have done him the world of good. With Antoine Semenyo ineligible for this game, expect Pep Guardiola to recall Foden to the XI – and we are backing him to deliver a goal. The Englishman scored twice at the Etihad in the 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 4, and he can certainly wreak havoc on a Galatasaray defence which has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of the last five Champions League matches.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Newcastle: Both teams to score – No @ 2.21
Newcastle may have beaten PSV 3-0 on Matchday 7, but Eddie Howe’s side could struggle on their trip to Paris – especially if Bruno Guimaraes misses out again through injury. The Magpies are just not the same team without their captain, evidenced by a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on the weekend. Newcastle have also failed to score in three of their last four away matches, which is far from ideal when travelling to take on the reigning European champions. PSG have kept only two clean sheets in Europe so far and lost 2-1 at Sporting on Matchday 7, but we expect a solid response from Luis Enrique’s men. Achraf Hakimi’s timely return from AFCON also makes the hosts stronger in both defence and attack!
Benfica vs Real Madrid: Anytime goalscorer – Kylian Mbappe @ 1.67
Mbappe is enjoying another magnificent Champions League season. The Frenchman scored twice in last week’s 6-1 win over AS Monaco, and has 11 goals overall. Another brace against Villarreal on the weekend took him to 34 goals across all competitions in 2025-26, an ominous record if you are a Benfica defender. Jose Mourinho’s side lost 2-0 at Juventus last time out, a damaging result which means they have to go for the win here to stand a chance of reaching the play-offs. That means a deep block is off the table, meaning the likelihood of Mbappe being afforded more space in the final third, which usually only results in one thing – a goal!
Inter Milan to beat Borussia Dortmund and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 3.90
This is one of the more intriguing games of Matchday 8, a battle between two European giants who each have a chance of finishing in the Top 8. Inter are 14th and just a point off the automatic qualification places, while Dortmund are 16th and only two points behind. As such, we expect an entertaining affair in Germany, but one in which Inter eventually prevail. Over 2.5 goals were scored in four of Dortmund’s last five matches, the only exception being last week’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham. And Inter arrive on the back of a 6-2 victory over Pisa in Serie A, which followed a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal. Over 2.5 goals were scored in three of their last five matches, so this could be a great little combo bet.
